7lbs 10oz, 21.4 inhere i am, 2 weeks old

so my due date came, and i was pretty resigned to the fact that bb2 was going to be a little late. but right on schedule, she decided to make her move. we got to the hospital right before 5pm, and incredibly, she was born 2 and a half hours later! praise the shinto gods.

she is 2 weeks old and amazing. we are all happy as can be, and marveling at the wonders of a newborn. she is hella cute, makes amazing little sounds, looks at everything with her huge eyes in wonder, holds her head up already (by like day 3!), smells like sweet biscuits, and is somehow turning around onto her tummy in her crib by herself. man, she's going to be trouble. JG is the best big brother ever, holding her gently, covering her with kisses, singing little songs to her, and being fiercely protective already.

so ya, A. and i cannot quite believe we are parents to 2 kids now, but we are really really digging it so far. no time for anything at all, but she is the sweetest, cutest little baby. somehow, it IS different with a girl and a boy...she's somehow more...delicate. but she really does look a lot like JG when he was a little baby.

thank you all for your love and vibrations. really, it made a huge difference for me, knowing you were all "with" me all the way over here. we felt your presence. we cannot wait for you guys to meet irune. but until then, i will keep you posted right here as often as i can. we send you all our love.

no, not yet

i'm still very pregnant.
kintaro and patchan arrived last week. it's been amazing to be with him, and to watch JG take to his little cousin immediately. kinchan is totally mesmerised by JG. it's beautiful and surprisingly tender.
timmy flew in for the weekend to meet kinchan for the first time as well. it was nice to be all together, even for a short time. swimming was awesome in the extreme hot and humid, and fun was had by all.
but i'm still pregnant.
bb2 is still baking, and we are really really ready already.
so i just read that the father's genes are responsible for when the baby comes out. both A. and ryder were late. i guess that's just the way it is, dammit.
but there are 4 1/2 days left until the official due date, so i am just going to climb as many stairs as i can, walk as much as i can bear, and just chill, because there is nothing i can do about any of it anyway. at least we were able to avoid george w. bush's birthday on the 6th. whew.
A. and JG finally took out the 4 snowballs we stashed in the freezer since winter, and had a rollicking snowball fight on the 6th of july. i love my boys so much.
